2009, Multimedia Installation
Camberwell College of Art
Technologies are not simply changing how we use and access information, they are changing the way we experience and inhabit the built environment. The intention of the installation is to explore how these changes effect us. Are we now more alienated from our surroundings or do these technologies liberate us from the structured nature of cities? Although communities primarily form around towns and streets, they now thrive online. What does this mean for the physical make up of cities and buildings?
On Being Lost is a digital installation incorporating moving image, sound and sculpture. Projected across transparent sheets that catch the light, abstract architectural shapes shift and contort to form an ever changing landscape.
